Curated by founder Alexander Horne (DJ Uraki Riddim) with Duncan Grant (CAIN) & Rich Jones (Niven Trust) - the compilation has a nod to the trio' & label' Scottish roots. Tracks from Aberdonian T_A_M & Glasgow-based artist Susannah Stark tie illuminate their respective off-kilter patterns with a folk spirit. CAIN hatches a snarling dance floor builder in 'Talas'. Across the North Sea come tracks from skweee boss Beatbully & the enigmatic Center of the Universe - lofi analogue fun with no v-neck seriousness in sight. From fjord funk to the warm rhythmical pads of blanali and the bright uplifting synth-driven 'Whisper' by Lazy H. There are heads down percussive moments too with a new twist from Herman on his myoclonus drum riddims, a teaser for his 3rd EP due in 2023, and a head nodding broken beat number by SP wizard Pursuit Grooves - a long standing friend of the label since her Sonar show way back in 2010! Watch out the Belgiums are coming, D-Nite gives us some of that lowlands rave energy in 'Glistening Dust' - a snappy prelude to his forthcoming 'Echoes EP'. Closing things out, and kicking things off, is the epic 'Glossolalia' by the LA composer Jon Lloyd. An expansive beat-less composition that nods to film scores and floating in space.
